The wheeled asphalt paver Dynapac F141-6W/D is an advanced construction machine designed for precise road surface laying. At our headquarters in Kojszówka, we had the opportunity to conduct a comprehensive service and repair of the Deutz TCD2013 L06 engine unit, which is responsible for the reliability and efficiency of this machine. The manufacturer Dynapac is one of the world leaders in road equipment production, while Deutz is a recognized manufacturer of diesel engines, valued for the robustness and durability of its designs.

The reason for the need for repair in this case was burnt valves, which manifested as difficult starting, power loss, and uneven operation of the unit. Our team began diagnostics with compression tests and cylinder leak tests, as well as using an endoscopic camera to assess the condition of the valve seats. The results confirmed the necessity for a comprehensive overhaul.

Engine Disassembly

The disassembly process began at the client's location near Katowice. According to procedures, a crane provided by the client was used. WIBAKO mechanics disconnected the fuel lines, cooling system, and air intake, securing all sensitive components. The engine was then transported to our headquarters in Kojszówka, where further verification took place.

Component Verification

During the verification stage, significant wear of the valve seats and valves was confirmed. Additionally, a full inspection of the crankshaft, connecting rods, and pistons was conducted. The camshaft was checked for wear on the lobes, and the turbocharger was verified for axial and radial play. The injection pump was placed on a test bench, allowing for an assessment of its efficiency.

Regeneration and Repair

The regeneration work included a comprehensive rebuild of the engine head, including machining, replacement of valve guides, and new valves. The crankshaft was inspected and machined, connecting rods were balanced and checked for micro-cracks. The piston-connecting rod assembly received new cylinder liners, pistons, and rings. The injectors were regenerated, and the injection pump was repaired at a specialized facility.

All auxiliary components, such as the turbocharger, alternator, and starter, were checked and replaced with new or regenerated parts as needed. As a result, the entire engine was brought to a technical condition comparable to factory standards.

Engine Installation

After the repairs were completed, we proceeded to install the engine in the Dynapac asphalt paver. This stage is extremely important and requires great precision. Our mechanics carefully connected all fuel and electrical lines, ensuring the tightness of the intake and cooling systems. New lines and seals were used, minimizing the risk of leaks. Before starting, a leak test of the entire system was conducted. During the first start-up, the machine operator was present, and the process concluded with the signing of the installation acceptance protocol.

Engine Dyno Test

A unique advantage of our service is the ability to conduct tests on the engine dynamometer. The Deutz TCD2013 L06 engine was run for 16 hours under light load conditions and then repeatedly tested across the full power range. The dynamometer allowed us to monitor oil pressure, operating temperature, exhaust parameters, and unit behavior under load. This ensured that the engine after repair meets all operational standards and is fully ready for use in the paver.

This solution gives our clients the guarantee that they receive a unit that has been checked and tested under conditions close to real ones, significantly reducing the risk of unexpected failures on the construction site.

Engine Maintenance After Repair

All engines after repair are covered by a warranty. We recommend performing the first inspection after 50 operating hours, during which filters are replaced and the tightness of all connections is checked. Subsequent inspections should be performed every 250 operating hours, but no less than once every three months. Our mobile service provides support at the machine's work site, allowing for quick and convenient execution of necessary tasks.

Deutz TCD2013 L06 Engines in Other Machines

The Deutz TCD2013 L06 unit is used not only in Dynapac asphalt pavers but also in many other construction machines, including loaders, mobile cranes, and material handling excavators. Due to its versatility and high power, this engine has found wide application in the construction and road industries.

Summary

The overhaul of the Deutz TCD2013 L06 engine in the Dynapac F141-6W/D asphalt paver was carried out comprehensively, adhering to the highest service standards. Thanks to the dynamometer tests, the client received a fully verified and ready-to-work unit, allowing for safe and efficient operation of the machine. Regular inspections and WIBAKO service support ensure the long life of the engine and trouble-free operation on the construction site.
