Cummins 4BT3.9

In our workshop, a rebuild of a heavily worn Cummins 4BT3.9 engine was carried out.

We started the engine repair with the regeneration - oversizing - of the engine block.

Course of the repair

Then the engine was assembled on new repair kits containing main bearings, bearings and connecting rod bushings, as well as oversized pistons with rings. In the fuel system, regenerated injectors and an inspected injection pump were installed. The engine cooling system received a new water pump and a new thermostat. The worn oil pump was replaced with a new one.

In addition, the following were regenerated: crankshaft, connecting rods, cylinder head, turbocharger, camshaft, and starter.

Finally, the engine was assembled on a new set of seals, gaskets, and filters.

After the repair, the engine was checked and preliminarily run-in on the engine dynamometer in our workshop.
