In our workshop, a rebuild of the damaged Komatsu S6D102E-1 engine from a Komatsu crawler excavator was carried out.

The engine repair included, among other things, the replacement of the damaged engine block, crankshaft, camshaft along with tappets, and the cylinder head. Each of these elements was regenerated. Then the engine was assembled on new repair kits containing main bearings, bearings and connecting rod bushings, as well as complete pistons. In the fuel system, regenerated injectors and an injection pump were installed.

The engine cooling system received a new water pump and thermostat, the base of the coolant filter needed to be replaced. The worn oil pump was replaced with a new one.

In addition, the following were regenerated: connecting rods, turbocharger, camshaft, and starter.

Finally, the engine was assembled on a new set of seals, gaskets, and filters.

After the repair, the engine was checked and preliminarily run-in on the engine dynamometer in our workshop.
