A Cummins QSL 8.9 engine overhaul was carried out in our company.
The engine overhaul included, among other things, the replacement of main bearings, connecting rod bearings and bushings, as well as cylinder liners and pistons with rings. Two connecting rods also required replacement. In the fuel system, refurbished injectors and a fuel pump were installed. In the lubrication system, a new oil pump and piston nozzles were installed. The cooling system gained a new coolant pump and thermostat.
The camshaft and pushrod cups were also replaced.
In addition, the following were regenerated: the crankshaft, connecting rods, head, turbocharger and starter.
Finally, the engine was assembled on a new set of seals, gaskets and filters, and the electrical harness was repaired.
After the repair, the engine was checked and preliminarily run-in on the engine dynamometer in our workshop.
