Debt of the construction industry in 2023
The National Debt Register records that in 2023, the debt of the construction industry increased by PLN 262 million and exceeded PLN 1.5 billion. Breaking down the debt into individual sectors of the construction industry, the largest debt is held by companies specialized in a specific type of construction work - PLN 700 million. There are supposed to be 27.5 thousand indebted companies from this sector (the average debt is over PLN 25 thousand), and behind them are companies related to the building construction sector indebted for PLN 660 million, and the NDR indicates that there are almost 16 thousand such companies. In the last place is the sector of land and water engineering, whose debt is PLN 181.5 million and there are the fewest companies dealing with this sector of the economy, only 3.5 thousand, but the average debt is the largest - over PLN 52 thousand.
CSO results for the construction industry for October 2023
The CSO (Central Statistical Office) data for the construction industry, specifically the dynamics of construction production for October 2023, looked as follows: an increase in production in October, on an annual basis, occurred in the sector of companies dealing with land and water engineering objects - an increase of 17.6%, as well as those carrying out specialized works - 7.1% and those involved in building construction - 1.1%.
Comparing the results of the mentioned sectors with September 2023, an increase occurred in companies performing specialized works - 6.7% and in those responsible for the construction of engineering objects - 4.4% of land and water, and a decrease was noted by companies constructing buildings - 3.9%.
Comparison of increases and decreases for the period January - September 2022/2023 - entities dealing with the construction of land and water engineering objects - production increase by 10.4%, companies performing specialized construction works - increase by 6.1%, and a decrease in production occurred among companies erecting new buildings - 3.6%.
