Mecalac eS1000 Electric Loader
The Mecalac eS1000 electric loader is the latest machine from the French construction equipment manufacturer. Increasing carbon dioxide emission standards are leading to attempts to adapt electric drives to the conditions of construction equipment in the construction machinery industry.
The premiere of the described model, eS1000, took place in October 2023 (Annecy, France), and the technical details of this construction include a battery with a capacity of 75kWh, vehicle weight of 7 tons, one cubic meter bucket capacity, maximum lifting height of 2.65 meters with a load capacity of 3.5 tons. The Mecalac electric model fleet also includes the e12 excavator (11 tons) and the ed6 mini dumper, and the manufacturer calculates that using these machines on a construction site can save 64 tons of carbon dioxide per year compared to traditional combustion models of the same class.
The eS1000 model is praised for its mobility and compactness in limited urban spaces, and the Mecalac Swing Loader solution is designed to reduce unnecessary maneuvers, thereby improving efficiency. The loader can operate autonomously for 8h (battery charging takes 4h).
Similar machines are appearing more and more in the industry, for example the E series from Volvo, or hybrid machines from Komatsu, how this segment will develop in the industry will show the future.
