A Volvo TAD 650 VE engine rebuild has been carried out in our company.
The engine repair included, among other things, the replacement of pistons along with rings, crankshaft bearings, connecting rod bearings and bushings. The fuel system received new injectors, new high-pressure fuel pumps and a new supply pump. The cooling system was equipped with a new water pump and thermostat. Accessory belts along with tensioners were also replaced.
A new oil pump, a new camshaft with tappets, which were one of the causes of the engine failure, were also installed.
The engine computer along with the wiring harness was also repaired.
In addition, the following were regenerated: the engine block, head, crankshaft, connecting rods, turbocharger, and the alternator and starter.
Finally, the engine was assembled on a new set of seals, gaskets and filters.
After the repair, the engine was checked and initially run-in on the engine dynamometer in our workshop.
