A Caterpillar D6N LGP bulldozer, with a broken Caterpillar C6.6 engine, arrived at our workshop.
The engine repair included, among other things, the replacement of main bearings, connecting rod bearings and bushings, and pistons along with rings. The engine block was machined due to significant wear. A new oil pump was installed in the lubrication system. The cooling system gained a new coolant pump and thermostat, while the machine's radiator was cleaned before the engine was installed.
The camshaft and pushrod cups were also replaced, along with a complete set of drive belts and their tensioners.
In addition, the crankshaft, connecting rods, cylinder head, and turbocharger were regenerated.
Finally, the engine was assembled on a new set of seals, gaskets, and filters, and the electrical harness was repaired.
After the repair, the engine was tested and preliminarily run-in on the engine dynamometer in our workshop.
