Repairing a hydraulic pump can be a complex process, requiring appropriate technical skills and experience in diagnostics to properly locate and fix the fault.

Repair process
In our workshop, we carried out a repair of the main hydraulic pump from a Liebherr crawler excavator. The diagnosis quickly showed that the device is in very poor condition. Most of the basic elements responsible for the proper operation of the hydraulic pump were damaged.
The separator completely disintegrated, its fragments could be arranged like a puzzle. The pistons were also in a similar state. Both parts were replaced with new ones. In the repair process, the front shaft was also replaced, which plays an important role in the process of moving the fluid and allows the use of hydraulics in the machine.
The cradle, ball, cylinder, set of bearings and seals also turned out to be unfit for regeneration. After replacing all components, which were determined to be critical, we proceeded to grinding and running in the rest.
The completion of the technical work was cleaning and assembling the pump as a whole. Then, the repaired equipment was subjected to tests on the dynamometer to ensure that it works correctly. We always test such parameters as pressure, power, torque and flow/capacity. During such a test, we try to reproduce the conditions that occur in the machine during its natural rhythm of work.
The discussed model passed the set test tasks correctly and could be put into use.
