Engine disassembly in the field
As part of our service, we carried out a comprehensive overhaul of the Liebherr D926 TI-E A5 engine, which powers the LTM1055/1 crane. Our mobile service went to Krakow this time, where we disassembled the power unit. The whole process took two days and included dismantling the equipment, securing screws and elements remaining in the machine, and preparing the engine for transport. After disassembly, the engine was transported by our transport to the Wibako base in Kojszówka.
Verification and engine overhaul
The engine showed signs of excessive smoking during operation, indicating serious wear of components. After delivering the unit to our workshop, the mechanics carried out a detailed verification of all components, which allowed to determine the scope of necessary repairs. After the customer accepted the cost estimate, we proceeded with the general overhaul of the engine.
Regeneration of main components
The engine overhaul included the regeneration and repair of key elements:
- Grinding of the crankshaft,
- Replacement of sliding bearings,
- Regeneration of connecting rods,
- Planing and regeneration of the cylinder head,
- Regeneration of the fuel system,
- Repair and balancing of the turbocharger,
- Regeneration of the alternator and starter.
Test on the engine dynamometer
One of the key stages of engine rebuilding was its testing under load conditions on our engine dynamometer. We have the ability to test this model of engine as one of the few companies in Poland. We conducted the tests in several stages, starting with light load and gradually increasing operating parameters to confirm its efficiency and reliability.
Engine assembly and startup
After successful completion of the tests, our team went to the customer to install the engine. The assembly process took two days and included:
-
Mounting the engine in the machine frame,
-
Connection of fuel, cooling and electrical systems,
-
Preliminary tests checking the tightness and correctness of connections,
-
First startup under the supervision of our service technicians.
After the assembly was completed, the engine worked correctly, and the LTM1055/1 crane could return to operation.
Service after 50 mth
As part of our comprehensive service, the first engine inspection will take place after 50 hours of operation. During this review, our mechanics will replace filters, check all connections, and tighten screws. This will maintain the optimal operating parameters of the engine and ensure its long-term reliability.
Thank you for your trust and we invite you to use our Liebherr engine service as well as other brands.
