Engine disassembly in the field
Our mobile service carried out the disassembly of the Liebherr D916 engine from the LTM 1040 crane in the vicinity of Lodz. The disassembly process lasted two days, during which our mechanics secured all equipment elements and screws necessary for reassembly according to procedures. After the disassembly work was completed, the engine was transported to the Wibako base in Kojszówka by our own transport.
Verification and engine overhaul
The engine had knocking symptoms, so we immediately subjected it to a detailed verification for wear of individual components. After analysis and acceptance of the repair scope by the customer, we proceeded to the engine overhaul, which included:
- Regeneration of main components, including the crankshaft, connecting rods and cylinder head,
- Regeneration of the fuel system to ensure optimal operating parameters,
- Regeneration of equipment, including turbocharger, alternator and starter,
- Assembly of regenerated and new parts,
- Engine dynamometer test, which confirmed the correct operation of the engine after the overhaul.
Engine assembly and startup
After successful tests, the engine was transported back to the crane's workplace in the vicinity of Lodz, where our team carried out the assembly. The entire assembly process lasted two days, and after its completion, the engine was started and tested in the presence of the machine operator. All operating parameters were in accordance with the manufacturer's standards, and the crane returned to full efficiency.
Service after overhaul
In accordance with our standards, the first inspection after the overhaul will take place after 50 mth of machine operation. It will include the replacement of filters and checking the correctness of assembly and engine operation.
