From the very beginning, the history of the company was marked by groundbreaking events: pioneering production of a locomotive and internal combustion engine in Sweden, construction of the first tractor or pioneering work on the construction of a construction machine. Volvo's formal start dates back to 1927, when the first car was produced under the name of the ÖV4.
The events of the Second World War forced the company to change its business profile and focus on the production of a wide range of aircraft engines for the army. The post-war period was a time of prosperity and dynamic changes for Volvo. In 1954, the H-10 wheel loader was constructed, in 1966 the serial production of an articulated hauler began, and in 1972 the company launched a ROPS cab, whose main task was to ensure the safety of the operator in the event of the machine overturning.

From the very beginning, the company was focused on international expansion and expanding its sphere of influence. In 1985, thanks to an agreement concluded with Clark Equipment, Volvo entered the Americas, five years later the German company Zettelmeyer Baumaschinen GmbH was acquired. In 2007, the Chinese companies Linong and Ingersoll Rand were acquired, and seven years after the acquisition of the transport company from Terex.
Over the years, Volvo has been characterized not only by the gradual expansion of its sales markets, but also by great concern for building its own portfolio. It was the Swedish giant that introduced the ground-breaking G900 graders or the over 50-ton L350F wheel loader to the market.
Constructing and manufacturing trucks, buses, excavators, dumpers and loaders has become the horse of the Swedish brand. Volvo currently sells products and parts from four brands: Volov, SDLG, Blaw-Knox and Terex. Volvo parts work in over 180 countries around the world, and the company's products are located in 19.
